Prof. em. Dr. Hubert Österle

After his retirement Hubert Oesterle is still working for the project Independent Living and at the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality.

Competence Center Independent Living (CC IL): The CC IL develops solutions supporting the independence and self-determination of elderly people, allowing them to age at a high quality of daily life. Together with over thirty business partners the CC IL is working on new business models, with concrete services being offered in pilot applications. The goal is to make a wide range of products and services available to elderly people in an easy-to-use, cost-efficient manner, and to increase efficiency on the part of service providers and intermediaries. Besides developing cross-industry business models, the CC IL is currently focusing on an electronic service platform for easy ordering and processing of services.

Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ): The CC CDQ develops solutions aiming at maintaining and improving the quality of corporate data. High-quality data are critical for companies in order to meet a number of strategic requirements, such as company-wide reporting or integration of business units and business processes. Together with a number of business partners - among them Bayer CropScience, Beiersdorf, Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, E.ON, Nestlé, or Novartis - the CC CDQ has been specifying design areas which need to be worked on by companies trying to establish corporate data quality management. Results of such consortial research are strategies, methods, architectures, reference models, or guidelines for establishing, operating and improving data quality management.
